I was BLOWN AWAY by the ability these "disabled" actors showed at the "Meet the Biz" workshop I  "taught" yesterday.  (They taught ME!)  Exhibit A:  The PANIC I experienced when my first volunteers to do Meisner were deaf and paralyzed... Which quickly turned to awe, as I watched them do the exercise so effortlessly!  My panic was born out of my own ignorance.  I was the disabled one!!  Special thanks to David Zimmerman for having me, as well as Paul Rohrer and Kim Rubinstein for teaching me all that I know!

I just went through a big stack of fan mail, which was partially flattering, but mostly CONFUSING!  Why are people sending me letters/photos meant for "Mr. Tavaré?"  And who is this mother-son duo straight out of the 70's, and what am I supposed to do with them?!  And NO, I WILL NOT SIGN SOMEONE ELSE'S TOPLESS PHOTOS FOR YOUR "GIRL SCOUT PROJECT!"  LOL!!!

First weekend home in 6 weeks.

I am NOT traveling ANYWHERE this weekend.

Now, ANYONE that knows me, knows all things technological (even formatting/sending in an audition) are VERY HARD for me.  Kinda like shooting an entire movie that appears to be filmed within a single shot...

This weekend at London Film & Comic Con, I watched the tail-end of Tim Russ's photoshoot with fans as I waited for my own.  I honestly got choked up watching them interact... What he was doing seemed suddenly so important:  he'd taken them on this journey through faraway galaxies via their TVs; and now, they got to meet him, and thank him for that.  They were so sincerely moved by the opportunity, and all he had to do was show up and smile.  It was so simple, yet seemed to make such a difference.  I shared my experience with him afterwards, and he said, "But you're doing the same thing!"  I told him I didn't see it like that-- I'm IN it, so it's hard to step outside oneself and witness it objectively.  He concurred (and boldly went where no man has gone before)!

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES?!?  I'm dining at this tiny, obscure, Indian restaurant in London, and Danny Huston walks in!  Enjoyed a nice curry while we waited for Jessica or Kathy to get the telepathic memo and surprise us.

Cool!  A short film from another lifetime my Groundlings pal, Michaela Watkins (SNL, Trophy Wife, Benched) and I wrote/starred in just got invited to screen at the Burbank International Film Festival!  Sept. 9-13 at AMC Theatres throughout downtown Burbank.  Exact deets forthcoming.

Longest 4th of July of my life.  

Traversed 2 hemispheres and 17 time zones-- 

no wonder I can barely hold myself up.

My dear friend, Randy Meyer (pictured here, with his darling partner, Tim, at the silent disco, as d-j'ed by a muppet) helped me pick out my current Airbnb.  Which is why is should come as no surprise than an elderly drag queen just welcomed me in... Hilarity is ensuing AS WE SPEAK!
